What is Experiential Marketing?
The goal of experiential marketing is simple – to create a genuine connection with your customers, by inviting them into the world of your brand, providing an intentional interaction with your product or service, and asking them to create a memory with you.
If the pandemic and quarantine have taught us anything, it’s that there’s nothing like shared, meaningful experiences.
Whether that’s simply coffee with a friend, a family vacation, attending a hockey game with a colleague, or an adventure with someone at an exotic destination – experiences are what make life worth living.
Experiences evoke emotions and connections and shake up routines, which then turn into powerful memories as we take photos, keep mementos and share the story of the experience with others. Whether we share that story on social media, through our professional networks, or as part of an interaction with a friend, it’s human nature to tell others about an awesome experience.
And we all know, as people, the word of someone you know, like and trust makes you far more likely to make a purchase with that brand over any amount of exposure to traditional advertising.
Furthermore, we tend to revisit such memories later, whether through a memory reminder on social media, a scrapbook or on an anniversary – making it something that never loses value, collects dust or is otherwise disposed of.
